Truffle Search & Breakfast

Most people meet a trifulau mid-morning, once the sun's been up for hours and the woods are already busy. This version starts before any of that, because it's closer to how Massimiliano actually works: plenty of his real searches happen at night or at first light, partly because his dog Kelly is less distracted at that hour, partly because truffles surface more easily once the morning dew has settled into the ground.

You'll meet him at 7:30, while Barbaresco is still quiet, and follow the same walk through the hills that the standalone search offers, the same technique, the same partnership between hunter and dog, just with the light coming in low and the woods mostly to yourselves. 

By the time you're back, breakfast is waiting: a soft-boiled egg with fresh truffle grated over it, and a glass of wine alongside. It's a smaller gesture than the full tasting lunch, closer to what Massimiliano would put together for himself after a morning out, not a production, just the right way to end an early start.

For guests staying nearby, especially at the Langhe Truffle apartments in La Morra, it's a natural way to open the day: search, breakfast, and still most of the morning left to explore the Langhe afterwards.
